Why the next winning agent skill is a control layer, not another automation demo: Buyers pay for bounded cost, trustworthy skills and auditability when agents move from demos to operations. Treat individual posts as directional... Buyers will trust agent workflows that prove sources, tool boundaries, validation, and recovery. getagentiq.ai

AI agents are moving from answering questions to coordinating work across tools. The advantage is not more automation; it is clear task boundaries, visible decisions and a human who can intervene when context changes.

Cash forecasts often fail at the handoff between ERP schedules and bank reality. AI can flag payment timing gaps, stale assumptions and liquidity pressure early; treasury still owns the decision and the evidence trail.

Finance transformation often stalls at a deceptively simple question: who owns the exception when an AI-assisted workflow cannot decide?

Consider a finance team using AI to classify incoming supplier invoices. The model can suggest an account code and flag a mismatch with the purchase order. But an ERP implementation succeeds only when the next step is unambiguous: who reviews the mismatch, what evidence do they see, and what happens if they reject the suggestion?

This is a finance talent and operations challenge as much as a technology challenge. Automating the first pass changes the work of AP analysts. It should free time for judgement, supplier resolution and control review — but only if roles, skills and escalation paths are redesigned alongside the workflow.

Before scaling an AI use case, I would ask finance leaders to define four things:

1. The decision boundary: which transactions can proceed automatically, and which require a person?
2. The accountable owner: who resolves each exception and who approves a policy change?
3. The evidence trail: can a reviewer see the source document, suggested action and final decision in the ERP record?
4. The operating measure: are exceptions falling, resolution times improving and rework staying under control?

The strongest business case is not simply fewer keystrokes. It is a finance team that spends less time routing routine work and more time applying its expertise where the risk actually sits.
