Can teams leave a hosted personal agent with usable conversation evidence?: Portability claims should be tested by exported records, attachment fidelity and a reproducible import—not marketing labels.. Buyers will trust agent workflows that prove sources, tool boundaries, validation, and recovery. getagentiq.ai

An ERP implementation can go live on schedule and still leave finance with a slower close. The system works; the operating model around it does not.

That distinction matters when assessing AI for finance transformation. Before adding an assistant to a new ledger or reporting platform, map the work that happens between transaction and decision: who resolves exceptions, which reconciliations rely on spreadsheets, where approvals stall, and which numbers are trusted only after a manual check.

Take journal-entry review. An AI tool can help classify supporting documents, flag unusual combinations of account, cost centre and amount, and prepare a reviewer-ready explanation. But it should not quietly become the control. The finance team still needs a defined approval owner, traceable source evidence, clear thresholds and a route for disputed entries. Otherwise the automation makes a weak process run faster.

The same principle applies during ERP selection and implementation. Test vendors against real exceptions, not polished happy-path demos. Bring a sample of messy journals, late adjustments and intercompany differences. Ask how the system records who changed what, when, and why. Then measure the baseline: time spent preparing reviews, exceptions per cycle, rework and days to close. Those measures make the AI business case testable after go-live.

For finance leaders, the question is not “Where can we add AI?” It is “Which decision or control becomes more reliable, with less manual effort, and how will we prove it?”
