rate-limit-session-portability

Build portable handoff packets when an AI coding session is interrupted by rate limits, context limits, model outages, tool failures, or a required agent switch. Use when transferring work between OpenClaw, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, Grok, or another coding agent while preserving repo evidence, task state, decisions, blockers, next commands, and safety boundaries.

Rate Limit Session Portability

Workflow

1. Identify the repo, active task, interruption reason, and target agent.

2. Run `scripts/session_portability.py` against the repo before switching agents.

3. Prefer Markdown for human handoff and JSON for automation.

4. Review generated warnings before sharing; never include secrets, personal data, or private chat history.

5. Ask the receiving agent to verify git status, changed files, and the resume commands before editing.

Parameters

→ `--repo PATH` repository or project directory to summarize.

→ `--task TEXT` concise task objective.

→ `--reason TEXT` interruption reason, for example `rate_limit`, `context_limit`, or `tool_outage`.

→ `--target-agent TEXT` receiving agent or harness.

→ `--next-step TEXT` repeatable; explicit resume actions.

→ `--format json|md` output format.

→ `--output PATH` optional destination file under the repo or `/tmp`.

→ `--self-test` run local deterministic checks.

Output

A portable packet containing timestamp, repo metadata, git state, changed files, resume plan, verification checklist, and redaction warnings.
